NELSON SAUVIN’s Lush tropical fruit character with and white wine-like aroma

Developed by New Zealand's Plant & Food Research and released in 2000, the essential oil profile displays characteristics of fresh crushed gooseberries a descriptor often used for the grape variety Sauvignon Blanc, giving rise to this variety's name.

 

BRU-1’s Bright and floral character with a distinct fresh pineapple aroma

A new variety developed by John I. Haas and Brulotte Farms in the Yakima Valley. It is big and bold with a fruit-forward character that also offers clean bittering (13 - 15% AA). BRU-1 has a high Myrcene oil content that makes up over 50% of the total oil and contributes aromas of pineapple and stone fruit that is backed by a soft spice.

 

STYRIAN DRAGON’s Super-fruity notes of passionfruit, melon and berries

Styrian Dragon was bred at the Slovenian Institute of Hop Research and Brewing in Žalec from European and American germplasm.  It is a new aroma variety.  Profile descriptions include floral citrus, grapefruit, lemon, berries, rose, and tropical fruit.  Works well with all hop-forward beers including American, Belgian, and British styles, especially modern IPAs. 

 

CITRA’s Citrusy character with tropical fruit undertones

Citra is the current superstar of the hop world. Citra is the most sought after hop variety because it offers an intense citrusy flavor and aroma that revolutionized IPAs. It pairs well with other varieties like Mosaic, Galaxy, El Dorado, or BRU-1 or is even strong enough to carry a beer on its own.  Citra hops are noted for their higher Geraniol content, which is biotransformed by yeast into Citronellol a highly-sought-after aroma compound in fruit-forward IPAs.

Our Cyclhops Single-hop series was born of a desire to take a deep dive into a wide range of hop varieties and to explore and celebrate their unique characteristics. Our intention with each beer is to create a balanced backdrop that allows the hop’s singularity to shine.
