BREWER’S NOTES
Our approach to making the Strangers Red Wine was much the same as it is with beer: starting from a place of respect for the tradition, process, and ingredients. Harvested in Oliver, Osoyoos and the Naramata Bench in the Fall of 2020, the grapes were pressed in the Okanagan and have been happily fermenting and barrel-ageing in French oak at Strange Fellows Brewing in East Vancouver ever since. The blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon yields a nice balance of rich fruitiness, structured tannins and medium acidity with flavours of cherry, cassis, plum and blackberry, and aromatic notes of tobacco, vanilla and oak. Our intention was to make an easy-drinking red wine and have done just that. Our decision to package the wine in cans came of an inclination to break boundaries and to settle the enjoyment of a glass of wine firmly in the realm of every day and anywhere.
